California FairPlay's Asthma Adventure Camp is a free overnight summer camp for children ages 6-12 with mild to severe asthma. Founded in 2001 by Al Brown Sr., the camp teaches kids how to accept and manage their asthma through fun activities like 'How To Breathe Like a Millionaire' and 'Asthma Jeopardy,' alongside a full traditional camp experience at Camp Arroyo. The camp is fully donation-supported and free for campers, with transportation also provided at no cost. Staffed with 1 doctor, 7-10 registered nurses, 10-14 nursing students, and approximately 30 counselors at a 1:2 counselor-to-camper ratio. Registration is online via three required camper forms.
